"Shop till you drop...dead"

Films: Chopping Mall (1986)

Alias: Protectors 1, 2, and 3

Type: Man-Made

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: Twice that of an average lanwmower.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: The shopping mall has something for everyone. Stores, food, social gatherings, and as of now, overdone security.

History: Made to be the ultimate mall cops, these three bots were poised to guard the Park Plaza Mall through non-lethal means after dark. Unfortunately, a freak lighting storm struck their programming, and warped it into something murderous. Bad news for the partying intruders...

Notable Kills: A janitor is killed when the water near him gets electrocuted.

Final Fate: Protector 2 gets lured into a falling elevator, Protector 3 gets rammed by a mall cart after getting blinded by its own laser, and Protector 1 is set ablaze by a combination of fire and paint thinners.

Powers/Abilities: Equipped with tranqs, electric cables, and a laser eye.

Weakness: Cannot distinguish mannequins from real people, their lasers can be reflected, their treads don't work well on very wet floors, and any significant force can kill them.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-These robots, at best, look like homicidal WALL-Es. They're definitely threats, but it doesn't take much to destroy one.

Trivia: -There's a remake in the works that plans on doing away with the robots and going for something more supernatural. Yeah, real exciting.

-This film was shot in an actual Californian mall under the condition that nothing there be damaged and there not be a trace of the filmmakers' presence. The mall's owner thought they were alright, but the head of security saw them as little more than troublemaking pests.

We all saw that pun coming a mile away.

Serpentine! Serpentine!
Buy or die? Sounds like EA.

They also do chorus lines, amazingly enough.

The 'friendly cheek pinch' feature went horribly wrong.
"OWWWW! I don't get paid enough for this!"
